Rental guide website Zumper.com recently released the six best places to live in the Centennial State – read on to learn which cities made the cut!

1.     Castle Rock
Castle Rock got high marks for its outdoor space and family friendly vibe.  In addition to the 400 acres of state parks, canyons, and natural beauty, locals with (or without) kids can enjoy the Castle Rock’s Miller Activity Complex, a two-story, 64,443-square-foot recreational facility featuring everything from batting cages and an 18-hole golf simulator to an indoor pool and a lounge area with a fireplace. It’s a great place to go year-round to get a workout and let the kids run around.

2.     Boulder
Home to the University of Colorado at Boulder, there’s plenty that puts this city in the running for the best place to live in Colorado. In fact, Boulder was named one of the best bike cities in North America by Outside Magazine. Eldorado Canyon State Park and Boulder Canyon are both in this city’s backyard and provide residents with ample space for climbing, hiking, biking, and simply enjoying the outdoors. And if you’re looking for love, Boulder took the number one spot on zumper’s Best Cities for Singles list, beating more than 300 U.S. metro areas!

3.     Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs offers plenty of outdoor activities and small-town charm. It’s also home to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Old Colorado City, a national historic district near downtown, boasts local shops and restaurants, all featuring a view of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. Head to the Garden of the Gods for a truly spectacular hike through a beautiful natural rock formation, or hike Pikes Peak for one of the best workouts (and views) in the city.

4.     Denver

If you’re thinking of moving to Denver, you’re in good company. Denver has some other great neighborhoods to choose from. The city is a mecca for arts and culture in Colorado. Denver has seven arts districts, and each holds its own First Friday art walk. Plus, Red Rocks Amphitheater is just 15-miles west and hosts some of the area’s best concerts.

5.     Fort Colins
This historic city is super quaint. Old Town is a state and national historic district and features more than 25 historically significant buildings. Beer-lovers will enjoy exploring the 20+ craft breweries in town, including New Belgium, Snowbank, and Odell. In fact, Fort Collins produces so much beer that it accounts for 70% of all of Colorado’s craft beer production. Fort Collins is also a college town, home to Colorado State University, and a great one at that. It was recently named #3 on College Ranker’s 50 Best College Towns.

6.     Lakewood
A short drive from Denver, Lakewood is a beautiful outdoor escape from the city. It’s home to Bear Creek Lake Park, a 2,600-acre open space with campgrounds, hiking and equestrian trails, and a lake for swimming and floating. Travel just a few miles west of the park and you’re at the world-famous Red Rocks!
