Pandemic or not, people are still flocking to the Denver metro area. And with an abundance of sunshine and things to do, it’s no wonder why. But as more and more people are calling Denver home, they are looking for less crowded areas outside the city to buy.

With stunning views and a charming feel, many folks are now setting their sights on Erie. Once a coal mining town, Erie has got just about everything going for it now, including panoramic views of the Indian Peaks behind Boulder, a non-rush commute time into tech campuses along Foothills Parkway of just 20 minutes or so, and a genuine downtown filled with popular restaurants and shops.

According to a recent Denver Post article, the average single-family home price in Erie (now $611,739) showed a big 2019 increase (9.6% year-to-date) as its attractive areas of new midpriced homes give way to luxury builders, attracting higher-income buyers escaping Boulder home prices.

Erie is divided between Boulder County and Weld County, but both areas show schools ranking in the upper ranges of test scores now after a decade of attractive growth.

Ranking site niche.com, Erie has been named #17 of #71 Best Suburbs to Buy a House in Colorado; #26 of #71 Best Suburbs to Raise a Family in Colorado; and #27 of #71 2020 Best Suburbs to Live in Colorado!
